Day 3
So I’m into the third day of keeping my vices in check. So far so good, I guess.
Yesterday wasn’t exactly a struggle, but my attempts to conquer these addictions were imprinted in my brain in such a way that it was all I could think about.
As I have done previously when trying to lose weight and stop smoking pot, I went to the movies. It’s sort of the ultimate distraction, as well as the ultimate temptation. On the one hand, a small bag of unbuttered popcorn and a fruit punch isn’t the end of the world diet-wise, but the flip-side is, I’m at one of my most favorite places to be stoned. First, there’s the roof-top of The Grove’s parking garage. It has this stunning view of the Hollywood Hills, and it a great place to smoke up before seeing a movie. Then, once high, there really is no better food to eat (in my opinion!) than a big plate of nachos and cheese. I think they drug their cheese to make it extra-good.
Anyway, I resisted the nachos, didn’t smoke any pot, and ate my bland dry popcorn. I saw “Children of Men,” a stunning movie. Highly recommended!
So, here are some facts:
Day 2 food:
Orange juice (16 ounces)
Caesar salad with grilled chicken (about ½ order)
Water (three tall glasses)
Popcorn (small bag)
Fruit punch (fountain)
Day 2 exercise:
Another 5,000 steps (though I did nothing to improve the prior day’s #)
Daily weight: 279 (down 8)
All of the pictures are now posting. I still haven’t shaved!!! (My mom would kill me!)
No clue what today has in store for me, but I’m sure more of the same (temptation temptation temptation).
Thanks for reading!
