Day 6

I thought yesterday was going to be a bit of a struggle, but I stayed busy and soildered through. I am actually pretty pleased with the progress that I made around the house, and also pretty pleased with my eating habits.

Around the house, I finally got my laundry into one place, bought laundry detergent, also got curtains for the bedroom (no more thumbtacked sheets!), roman shades for the den, and did a general tidy. I also re-arranged the bedroom. The place feels all the move livable now.

Food-wise, I skipped the glass of OJ in the morning (wasn't hungry), and didn't end up going for lunch until around 2:30 p.m. I had nothing in the house (except soup!), so I went to Roman's, a favorite sandwich shop around the corner from me. I got the California press wrap, which might not have been the best-est choice on the menu, but was certainly not the worst. It comes with a small side salad. I ate the salad, ate half the sandwich, and the big accomplishment is, I didn't finish the other half!!! I must have looked like a fool, because there I sat, staring at the other half, and sort of talking to it. "I'm not hungry, why do I want to take a bite out of you?" "Because I'm delicious." "But the first half was just as delicious. Why do I need extra deliciousness, when I've just had a dozen or so bites of it." "Because you always want more. One half is never enough, not when the other half is just sitting here." I made it through though, got a small box, and survived the temptation!!

I was also pretty proud of my dinner choice. I hit the grocery store after lunch (shopping on a full stomach) and bought exclusively good-for-you foods. Chicken, shrimp, brocolli, non-fat yougurt, blueberries, tomatoes, feta cheese, lettuce and low-fat dressing, rice. I ended up sauteeing the shrimp and brocolli in the dressing, and putting that over rice. I'm pretty sure it was a fairly healthy dinner. And, the big victory is, I didn't have soup once all day!

A tiny victory, I know, but it at least proved that I'm not beholden to one or two things only as I pursue my goals.

So, some facts:

Day 5 food:

California press wrap (chicken, guac, cheese, peppers, onions, wrap) (1/2 order!!)

Side salad

Iced tea/lemonade mix (prob 30 ounces)

Shrimp (about 12), brocolli (a bunch), rice (1 cup), dressing (about 3 tablespoons)

Iced tea (about 16 ounces)

Fruit punch (not much)

Day 5 exercise

10,209 steps (an extra walk with Tessie, plus lots of errands)

Daily weight: 273 (down 14 lbs.)

So that's about it. Tonight's poker. Not even sure if Ron will offer me pot, and still not 100% sure I'll refuse if he does. I'm planning on bringing carrot sticks to the game should he offer and I have the munchies. But I'm pretty sure I'll refuse. T.B.D. And some more work around the house today, some laundry to be done, etc.

Thanks for reading!
