Day 86

Day 86

Yesterday was basically uneventful, and also a good day (though I’m certain I’ll be somewhere on the same plateau…).

Breakfast was a breakfast bar. No fruit. Before lunch, I snacked on some grapes, then went for a run. For lunch, I made another grilled chicken Caesar salad, which was good, though I don’t think I put enough lettuce into it. After lunch, I went grocery shopping for my boss, and picked up a new flavor of rice cake, this time Apple Cinnamon. I had two of them. Very good!

For dinner, I made my usual rice, chicken, salsa, peppers and onions, with a small handful of cheese. I probably ate too much of it. No, strike that. I definitely ate too much of it. Oh well.

And not too much else to report, in all honesty. The run yesterday was pretty difficult, and I decided I will probably take a day off from running. (Plenty of people have advised me to not do it every single day, and I think I’ve done it pretty consistently for almost two weeks now).

So, just the facts:

Day 85 food:

Breakfast bar
Water
Grapes (about 10)
Water
Grilled chicken Caesar salad (small bowl)
Water
Rice cake (2, 0 g. fat)
Water
Grilled chicken, salsa, rice, cheese, peppers and onions (too much)
Water

Day 85 exercise: Three long walks plus 2 mile run

Daily weight: 229 lbs. (down 58)

So today should be a pretty normal day. I did buy a fruit salad yesterday so I’m planning on having that for breakfast. And no run today. And hopefully soup!

Day 85

While yesterday was a lazy day, it was also a good day.

Again, I slept late, so missed breakfast. Prior to lunch, I went to the grocery store and picked up the fixin's to make a grilled chicken Caesar salad. It was good, but not great. I grilled the chicken up, but it still tasted kind of funny. Oh well.

For dinner, I roasted a mixture of red potato, sweet potato, onion and green pepper, mixed in some salsa and cheese. It was good, but not great. I probably could have gone without the sweet potato, but oh well.

And I did get in a run, 2 miles again. That's getting easier. Plus, four walks.

So, just the facts:

Day 85 food:

Grilled chicken Caesar salad (medium bowl)
Water
Roasted potato (about 2 potatos, small handful of cheese, olive oil, salsa)
Water

Day 85 exercise: Four long walks plus 2 mile run

Daily weight: 229 lbs. (down 58)

So that was yesterday. Today, back to work. Not sure what I'll end up eating, but hopefully I will get in a run when I get home from work later on.

Thanks for reading!

Day 83

Yesterday was another good day.

The big news... I did manage to get in a run in the morning. I felt pretty good, actually. Not only having gotten it out of the way, but also I felt like it gave me a bit more energy the rest of the day. So I was pretty happy about that. Also, I did two miles again, and that felt great.

Food-wise, the day was just fine, though I did splurge a bit at dinner. Breakfast was a banana and a breakfast bar. For lunch, I decided to not buy a Caesar salad from the Brite Spot (where it's like playing Russian roulette with how the chicken will be cooked, whether or not they'll remember dressing, etc.), and instead made my own. It came out pretty good, definitely satisfying.

For dinner, I met up with my step-father, in town for a couple of nights, and we went out to a sushi restaurant called Abe in Newport Beach. Credited as one of the top sushi restaurants in California, it most certainly lived up to it's reputation. It was unbelievable! And I ate (and ate and ate). Generally, most everything I ate was "good for me," though I did enjoy two pieces of shrimp tempura (yummm...) and had the plum sorbet for dessert (which I don't think was sorbet, I think it was ice cream). Oh well. Well worth it!

So that was the day. I might run again after I'm finished with this, again, partly to get it out of the way, and partly because I hear that running (or doing any exercise) first thing in the morning is better for you.

So, just the facts:

Day 82 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Popcorn cake
Grilled chicken Caesar salad (low fat dressing!)
Water
Grapes (about 20)
Sushi (probably 15 pcs. of fish)
Spicy tuna roll (3 pcs.)
Soft shell crab roll (3 pcs.)
Yellowtail miso soup (small amount)
Shrimp tempura (2 pcs.)
Plum sorbet (small amount)
Water

Day 82 exercise: Three long walks plus 2 mile run

Daily weight: 229 lbs. (down 58)

Two weekend days without much planned. I'm thinking about having the teriyaki bowl from the local Japanese restaurant later today, as they're closed tomorrow...

Day 82

Yesterday wasn't the best day food-wise, not that it was a terrible day. But, I don't think I ate too well.

The day started with a banana and a breakfast bar. From there, I went to work. Once home from work at 1:00 p.m., I had a popcorn cake. Then, therapy. After getting home from therapy, I had some grapes and then went for a run.

I ran 2 miles, which made me very happy. But when I got back from the run, I felt wiped out, so I ate a bunch of grapes and two more popcorn cakes. That gave me my energy back.

Finally, instead of lunch or dinner, I went to the movies with a friend to kill some time between mid-day and my evening plans and ate popcorn. And that was all I ate for the day. Nothing too nutritious to speak of.

Oh well...

So, just the facts:

Day 81 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Popcorn cake
Water
Grapes (about 25)
Water
Popcorn cakes (2)
Water
Popcorn (large bag)
Water

Day 81 exercise: Four long walks plus 2 mile run

Daily weight: 229 lbs. (down 58)

So, I'm up early today. I am going back and forth on whether or not to run this morning. I think I can pull it off. I am mostly planning on running tonight because I am having dinner down in Orange County tonight after work and won't have time to run during the day.

Thanks for reading!

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Day 81

Yesterday was a good day.

I woke up a bit cranky, though, and needed a few hours to get my head on straight. I had some fruit salad for breakfat (finishing off the remaining fruit salad from Sunday's dinner), and a can of soup for lunch (I can't believe how good that damn Chunky chicken gumbo remains to this day), and went out for Japanese food for dinner (the chicken teriyaki bowl was top-flight, but the shrimp tempura roll wasn't that good).

During the day, I got the urge to snack twice, and satisfied it with a popcorn cake and a bunch of grapes.

I also got in my run yesterday, and for the first time increased my run to 1 3/4 miles from 1 1/2 miles.

I have pretty well mastered the fatigue I used to feel right after starting the run. I am able to hit a stride and not immediately feel like quitting. But the internal debate about adding the 1/4 mile to the run begins almost instantly. That said, I pulled it off, deciding to add the 1/4 mile at the last minute but not really feeling much different when the run was over. Well, not feeling worse, that is. I did feel pretty good about myself having run that far.

Anyway, that was the day that was. Now, some facts:

Day 80 food:

Fruit salad (small bowl)
Water
Popcorn cake
Water
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Grapes (about 20)
Water
Chicken teriyaki with rice and veges (decent sized bowl)
Shrimp tempura bowl (about 2 pcs. total)
Water

Day 80 exercise: Four long walks plus 1 3/4 mile run

Daily weight: 230 lbs. (down 57)

So that was yesterday. Today will hopefully be a pretty routine day. I do have therapy today, which I always enjoy.

Thanks for reading!

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Day 80

Yesterday was a good day.

I had leftover fruit salad for breakfast (no breakfast bar!), then baked snapper for lunch (made by the housekeeper at my first boss's house). It was decent, but not great. I'm just not totally a fan of fish, though I'm learning to like it more.

For dinner I made rice, salsa, chicken, diced green peppers, and some cheese. Again, I could have done without the cheese, but it definitely helped.

I also ate a little fruit salad between lunch and dinner.

And that's all I've got this morning. I didn't sleep well last night at all, and now I'm running late. Ugh.

So, just the facts:

Day 79 food:

Fruit salad
Water
Snapper (1 medium pc.)
Salad (small amount)
Water
Fruit salad (small bowl)
Water
Chicken rice salsa cheese and green peppers (large serving)
Water

Day 79 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 1/2 mile run

Daily weight: 229 lbs. (down 58)

So that was the day. Nothing this week has gone as I had expected it to, so I can't even begin to predict what today will hold.

Thanks for reading!

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

Day 79

Yesterday turned out to be an uneventful, albeit fine, day.

Started out a bit later than usual (called in sick to my morning job), and had some of the leftover fruit salad. Followed that up with a run, and then finished off the leftover Caesar salad.

Once at my afternoon job, I snacked on some grapes, then headed home around 7:30 p.m. On the way home, I stopped and had some sushi for dinner.

Literally, nothing else exciting or eventful to report. No huge cravings for anything, not too hungry throughout the day, no real struggle. This keeps getting easier and easier. God, let this last...

So, just the facts:

Day 78 food:

Fruit salad (medium bowl)
Water
Caesar salad (medium bowl)
Water
Grapes (about 15)
Water
Gyoza (6 pcs.)
California roll (6 pcs.)
Spicy tuna roll (6 pcs.)
Crunchy roll (3 pcs.)
Water

Day 78 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 1/2 mile run

Daily weight: 230 lbs. (down 57)

So that was yesterday. Today, back to the morning job, plus the afternoon job. No big plans tonight, though I might go see a movie with a friend, if a meeting that's supposed to happen either tonight or tomorrow gets officially scheduled for tomorrow.

Thanks for reading!

Monday, March 19, 2007

Day 78

Yesterday was such a great day!

I decided to have some friends over for dinner, and spent the day preparing for that night's gathering. Turns out this was the first time I was having a "dinner party," so there were a few things that the apartment was missing to make the night not a disaster.

So, I shopped all day, which was sort of glorious.

In the end, I ended up eating a bit more than I should have, but did my best to keep things under control.

I skipped breakfast (woke up late again), and got a salad from the supermarket for lunch. It wasn't that good though, because the dressings weren't properly marked, and, being color-blind, I couldn't figure out which one was which, so I think I chose the wrong dressing. Oh well.

Before dinner got going, I snacked on a few croutons and some parmesan cheese as I prepared the Caesar salad, then did my best to avoid that by popping pieces of the fruit salad. Once dinner was served, I had a small helping of salad, a medium-sized piece of filet, and a large scoop of potatoes (roasted in olive oil), and about six spears of asparagus. I followed that up with a piece of pie that was to die for. Frozen key lime pie. I'm not even going to try and calculate the millions of calories hidden within it's spring colors...

But even better than the food was the company. It was a great night all-around.

Ahhh... Smell the flowers... Okay, enough of that! Now, some facts:

Day 77 food:

Salad (romaine, croutons, mini mozzerella cheese, mystery dressing)
Water
Parmesan cheese (about three small nubs)
Croutons (about 4 small pcs.)
Water
Fruit salad (10 or 12 pcs.)
Water
Caesar salad (small plate)
Filet mignon (medium piece, fat trimmed off)
Roasted potatoes with onion pepper and apple (large spoonful)
Asparagus (6 spears)
Frozen key lime pie (medium pc.)
Water

Day 77 exercise: Two long walks (does shopping count too?)

Daily weight: 228 lbs. (down 59)

So that was the day that was. No clue what today will hold for me, but hopefully lots of extra left-over fruit salad.

Thanks for reading!

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Day 77

Yesterday ended up being a good day, though unlike the day before, this day didn't end with a bang... It was more of a whimper.

Contrary to what I had planned on doing today, I did end up having a banana and a breakfast bar, somewhere around 11:30 a.m. After that, I had a popcorn cake mid-afternoon, and didn't really get hungry until I started playing poker early evening. The plan at poker was to order pizza, so when they told us a 60-minute time for deliver, I snacked on an apple. And then once the pizza came I had a couple of slices of cheese pizza with green peppers (in honor of St. Patrick's Day!).

I went to work briefly yesterday and my boss gave me three boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. I have now lived in the same apartment as these boxes of cookies and haven't had a single one. That, my friends, is quite the accomplishment, because under normal circumstances those cookies woudln't have seen a second day in my presence.

So while I was happy about my eating habits all day, I was less happy about my poker playing. At certain times I just couldn't find any good cards, but I was also folding stupidly and not calling when I should have, thus giving up some pots I could have won. Oh well. Down $50. The good thing is, I feel like, after two night so fit, poker playing is out of my system for some time. It'll probably be at least 2 or 3 weeks before I play again.

So that was the day. Now, some facts:

Day 76 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Popcorn cake
Water
Apple
Cheese pizza with green peppers (2 slices, not as small as Friday's, but still pretty small)
Water

Day 76 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 1/2 mile run

Daily weight: 228 lbs. (down 59)

So today I'm having some of my close friends over for dinner. I still haven't settled on what to make for dinner, since I plan on shopping for a new gas grill. If I find a grill in my price range, I'll buy it and grill something up for dinner. If I don't find a grill, who knows what the hell I'll make!

Thanks for reading!

Saturday, March 17, 2007

Day 76

Yesterday wasn't the most healthy day I've had food-wise, but I don't think it was such a bad day overall, and, it ended with a bang!

I had the usual banana and a breakfast bar to start my day, then, around noon, my boss called me to the kitchen and insisted I have a piece of cake to celebrate the birthday of one of his employees. I tried my best to resist, and then remembered that I am trying to not live my life out of bounds, rather than simply shunning completely every little thing that isn't good for me. So, I had a small piece of rum cake, which I think made me drunk. It was delicous, but sort of confused me the rest of the day. Do I skip lunch? Do I have lunch when I get hungry but skip dinner? Oh, such questions.

The rest of the day I snacked on grapes, and apple, and two of those popcorn cakes.

Finally, at the poker tournament I played in, I had two small pieces of pizza. And, I broke a rule at poker, and ate round 9:30 p.m.

So, that was the day with regards to food. As for one of the other vices, specifically poker, I won! Well, I tied for first in the tournament. Once it was down to two of us, me and the other guy decided to combine the prizes for first and second and simply split it 50/50. So, for a $20 buy-in, I ended up winning $300!

Normally, when I would do well at a tournament, I'd stop somewhere and celebrate with a big fast-food pig-out. But, I had no desire to do it this time. That made me pretty happy.

So, that was my day. Now, the facts:

Day 75 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Rum cake (small piece, 8.3million grams of fat)
Water
Apple
Grapes (about 20)
Popcorn cakes (two)
Water
Pizza (two small slices)
Water

Day 75 exercise: Four long walks plus 1 1/2 mile run

Daily weight: 230 lbs. (down 57)

So that was yesterday. Today, a late start so I'll probably just pick up lunch somewhere. Also, I've been craving Chipotle, so I'll probably brave the crowds at the Beverly Center and go get me some of that!

Thanks for reading!

(P.S. I weighed in at 230 lbs., down 3 lbs. from yesterday. Perhaps I should have a steady diet of rum cake and pizza from now on! Okay, just kidding...)

Friday, March 16, 2007

Day 75

Yesterday was another good day, with not too much out of the ordinary to report.

Breakfast was the usual, banana and a breakfast bar, lunch was another grilled chicken Caesar salad (my last of the week, I presume), and dinner was rice, salsa, grilled chicken and some cheese. I caved and put the cheese in. I thought about not doing it, but at the last minute decided, a little isn't going to kill me.

I also bought these new popcorn cakes, much better than the Quaker Quakes. Less sodium, less sugar, and still fat free. I ate two of them. Soooo good.

And I increased my run to a mile and a half. It wasn't that difficult. The beginning of the run was still a bit harder than I would like, but I found a good pace and kept it up for the entire time.

So, that was the day. Now, the facts:

Day 74 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Popcorn cake
Grilled chicken Caesar salad
Water
Banana
Grapes (about 15)
Popcorn cake
Water
Chicken, rice, salsa and cheese (about 1/2 cup rice, 4 chicken tenders, lots of salsa, small handful of cheese)
Water

Day 74 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 1/2 mile run

Daily weight: 233 lbs. (down 54)

So that was the day. Today, some work, therapy (which I missed last week), plus a small $20 poker tournament tonight. It's been weeks since I've played, so I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing.

Thanks for reading!

Thursday, March 15, 2007

Day 75

Yesterday had the potential to become a bad day, but that which I thought would make it a bad day didn't really pan out.

I woke up with a small twinge in my lower back, similar to the lower back pain that plagued me about 4 weeks into the year. And I was fully prepared for an out and out back attack, but, for whatever reason, it hasn't materialized. The last time I felt it was at work yesterday afternoon, but I just gritted my teeth through it, and tried to ignore it.

When I got home, I did my stretches, figuring if I felt any pain, I would not do my run. But there was nothing bothering me so I did the run. (Similar to yesterday, the first couple of blocks of the run were the hardest, plagued with self-doubt. But, by the end I was feeling like I could do another mile. So, today I will add another 1/4 mile to my run, bringing it up to 1 1/2 miles.

Food-wise, a good day. Banana and a breakfast bar, grilled chicken Caesar salad for lunch, and the Chunky chicken gumbo for dinner. A banana half-way through, and a rice cake snack.

So, now the facts:

Day 74 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Lightly salted rice cake (0 g. fat, 50 cal.)
Grilled chicken Caesar salad (entire order)
Water
Banana
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Water

Day 74 exercise: four long walks plus 1 1/4 mile run

Daily weight:

Today should be another normal day. No curveballs expected, and, hopefully a slightly longer run.

Thanks for reading!

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Day 73

Yesterday turned out to be a good day. And it was a Tuesday, a day that I usually struggle with, so that added to how good it was.

Everything went according to plan. Breakfast bar and a banana for breakfast, grilled chicken Caesar salad for lunch, and then sushi and an order of gyoza for dinner. Lots of water, no snacking, almost no cravings.

At the end of the day, even though it was a good day, I was still feeling like I’m enormous. I got over those feelings pretty quickly, but there was a small period where I was kicking myself.

I also got in another run yesterday. Different than my running the past few weeks, the moment I started this run, I was barely into it, I immediately though, I’m never going to finish this run. It’s too far. I did finish, and did do the extra ¼ mile as I had done yesterday, but there was a moment where I was plagued with self-doubt.

Anyway, that was the day that was. Now, the facts:

Day 72 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Grilled chicken Caesar salad
Water
Banana
Gyoza (6 pcs.)
California roll (3 pcs.)
Spicy tuna roll (2 pcs.)
Water

Day 72 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 ¼ mile run

Daily weight: 234 lbs. (down 53)

Today should be another day by the books. Hopefully I’ll get another run in before the day is out.

Thanks for reading!

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

Day 72

Okay, yesterday was a good day and a mildly miserable day as well.

Everything started off just fine. Breakfast bar plus a banana, work in the morning as normal (though I only drank one glass of water while there), and then home to wait for the cable guy.

According to Time Warner, they no longer offer the very nice service of calling 30 minutes before the technician shows up, so I had to sit at the house from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and wait for the guy. Well, 3:00 p.m. came and went, and nobody showed. Nobody even called to say he'd be late. So I get back on the phone with Time Warner and encounter some of the rudest people you can imagine. I wasn't being a total peach myself, but I was the one being screwed over, right? I had assured the guy I work for in the afternoons that I would be to his place by 4:15 p.m. to pick his kid up from school.

In the 45 minutes it took me to actually get somebody to help me out at Time Warner, the technician showed up. He couldn't figure out the problem, nor could he speak English to actually tell me what to do. And then he left. (In the meantime, my boss called to say he'd be home for his son after all, and he very graciously allowed me to be even later.)

So now it's 4:30 p.m., the technician has left and I have no clue what is wrong with my cable and internet, and no clue how anybody is planning on fixing it, and I call Time Warner back, and I get one of the most evil women I have ever encountered on the phone, and she tells me that the next time somebody can come out to help me is next Monday. So, a total of 12 days without cable or internet, and nobody at Time Warner seems even remotely concerned with this.

All of this comes down as I'm on the phone driving down Sunset towards work in dastardly traffic and I'm shaking, so mad at this company and all of the people that screwed with me throughout the day, and I finally had to pull over, because all I wanted to do was eat. That's it. I was two blocks away from Arby's (yes, we still have Arby's out here), and I knew if I reached there I would break down and stuff myself.

I took myself out of the traffic, called my boss and told him I wouldn't be in at all (he was very understanding), and turned around and went to the movies and ate popcorn (it's like being high without the pot). Pan's Labyrinth, by the way, which was decent but not amazing.

Then home after the movie, resolved to find a new cable company, and and much calmer. I went for a run (I did 1 1/4 mile!), and had a can of soup for dinner and called it a night.

Another desperate desire to eat and eat and eat, but I pulled through this one as well. This was actually a pretty close call.

So, thanks for reading all that. Now, some facts:

Day 71 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Popcorn (large)
Arnold Palmer (half lemonade/half iced tea)
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Water

day 71 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 1/4 mile run

Daily weight: 233 lbs. (down 54)

Today, hopefully, will be a normal day. I'm even hoping for a grilled chicken Caesar salad.

Thanks for reading.

(Oh, by the way, I'm able to get internet access because a neighbor somewhere around here has an unsecured wireless network... That's saving my life!!)

Monday, March 12, 2007

Day 71

Yesterday was the last day of the seminar, and I ended up skipping dinner as a result of the seminar getting out late, along with the fact that there was nothing even remotely redeeming to eat anywhere near the campus that was open on a Sunday night. I went to bed a bit hungry, but not starving by any means.

Breakfast was a breakfast bar and a banana, lunch was my can of soup, and then I peppered the afternoon and evening with a couple pieces of fruit to keep me filled up. I had also brought along some Quaker Quakes, but for whatever reason I wasn’t really into eating them yesterday, so I barely picked at them. But I did have an apple and a banana, and drank tons of water.

So that was the day. Nothing too exciting to report, a bit of Nicole Richie action out on my part, and the conclusion of an amazing seminar.

Now, the facts:

Day 70 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Quaker Quakes (less than 1 serving)
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Banana
Apple
Water (lots!)

Day 70 exercise: three long walks

Daily weight: 234 (down 53)

So that was yesterday. Today, back to the usual bump and grind of the work day. One catch, I'm waiting for the cable guy from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., so I'll probably go for my run while waiting.

Thanks for reading!

Sunday, March 11, 2007

Day 70

Yesterday was another good day.

One think worth mentioning, though, is that drinking so much water is really inconvenient when you want to sit through a 2-hour lecture. It seems like without fail, an hour into the lecture I have go pee. I hold it, and wait for the next break, but it's pretty annoying. I don't want to not drink water, though, so I just soldier on through. (Okay, sorry to launch into my pee in the first paragraph...)

Breakfast was the new usual, a breakfast bar, a banana, and a glass of water. Lunch was a can of soup (I felt a bit strange microwaving it in the middle of the cafeteria, but who cares, right?), and dinner was the curry rice from that same little Japanese restaurant I went to the day before.

Also, I snacked on grapes and Quaker Quakes throughout the day. It was another 12-hour seminar day.

So, just the facts:

Day 69 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Grapes (about 30)
Quaker Quakes (2 servings)
Water
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Curry rice (entire order)

Day 69 exercise: Three long walks

Daily weight: 236 (down 51)

So that was yesterday. Today is my last day of the 12-hour seminar. I think I'm going to need a body transplant after this, though, becuase the chairs there are sooo uncomfortable.

Anyway, thanks for reading!

Saturday, March 10, 2007

Day 69

Yesterday was a long day, but, all in all, a good day food-wise, and career-wise, I think it was a pretty spectacular day.

I woke up and had a banana and a breakfast bar. I got to the seminar on-time, and had packed a bag of grapes and a bag of Quaker Quakes, which I nibbled on during the breaks. Only problem that arose was lunch. The cafeteria on-campus literally only had burgers and fries and these little fruit cups and individual pieces of fruit. Nothing else. So, I ate the fruit cup and a banana. It wasn't filling at all (and the banana wasn't ripe), and drank lots of water. I was going to skip dinner, but on the drive home passes a fast food Japanese restaurant, so stopped in.

I had the gyoza (which wasn't very good, or at least the sauce wasn't good), and a chicken curry over rice. Nobody was able to tell me what was in the chicken curry, so I probably at the equivalent to nine sticks of butter (again, it tasted good so it must not be good for me). Oh well.

And that was the day. Sitting in the same uncomfortable chair for 10 hours was no picnic, that's for sure. But, I feel like I learned more about screenwriting yesterday than I have in my whole life. It was scary and exhilirating all wrapped in one.

Anyway, that was the day. Now, the facts:

Day 68 food:

Banana
Breakfast bar
Water
Grapes (about 40 throughout the day)
Quaker Quakes (about 2 servings throughout the day)
Fruit cup
Half banana
Water
Gyoza (4 pcs.)
Chicken curry over rice (entire order)
Water

Daily exercise: Three long walks

Daily weight: 235 lbs. (down 52)

So today I have learned my lesson. It might look a smidge tacky, but I'm bringing a can of soup and a bowl and using the microwave they have in the cafeteria for lunch today. I might swing by that same Japanese restaurant and have the curry dish again (assuming I'm not nine pounds heavier at weigh-in this a.m.). And of course grapes and Quaker Quakes to keep me going throughout the seminar.

Thanks for reading!

Friday, March 09, 2007

Day 68

Yesterday was a good day, and not much of a struggle.

Breakfast was what has become the standard now, a breakfast bar and a banana. Lunch was, as suspected, the grilled chicken Caesar salad. It wasn't thier best, but was delicious nevertheless. And dinner was a can of the Chunky chicken gumbo.

I did snack on some Quaker Quakes mid-day, and ate a boatload of grapes. It's strange about grapes (and most fruit actually). Because I've cut out almost everything sweet, eating fruit actually makes me feel guilty because it is so sweet. I'm not used to having anything that sweet and it makes me feel certain I must be cheating somehow.

That's not to say I'm going to stop eating it, but it is pretty strange how it makes me feel.

Oh well. A good day any way you look at it. Now, some facts:

Day 67 food:

Breakfast bar
Banana
Water
Quaker Quakes (about 5 pcs.)
Water
Grilled chicken Caesar salad (entire order)
Water
Grapes (about 25)
Water
Chunky chicken gumbo (entire can)
Water

Day 67 exercise: Three long walks plus 1 mile run

Daily weight: 236 lbs. (down 51)

So today will be interesting. I'm in a seminar from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a one hour break. I will only be able to get in three long walks. One at the start of the day, one at the end, and I'll walk during the lunch break we get. Also, I will have to figure out lunch at a college campus food court. That'll be interesting. I'm assuming there will be a salad bar of some sort... Wish me luck down there!
